Heating & Cooling

Remote Controlled Tower Fans

While the lake breeze and mountain climate produce very comfortable temperatures (and we do not have air-conditioning), we have included 40" remote controlled oscillating tower fans for each bedroom in addition to one in the living room. They are controlled by small remotes that store in the back of the unit. Average temperatures in the Pocono Pines are not typically very hot even during the summer.

  • June averages are between a high of 74F and a low of 54F.
  • July averages are between a high of 78F and a low of 59F.
  • August averages are between a high of 76F and a low of 57F.

Whole House Fan

If you want to quickly cool the house on a hot day it's a great idea to use the whole house fan. You'll find the switch to activate it on the wall outside the kitchen.

Don't be concerned, it's LOUD, but it works incredibly well pulling hot air out and through the attic.

MYSA Heating Control

Each room and several common areas have individually controlled heating units. These units are operated by changing to the desired temperature using the up or down arrows. As they operate electrically via baseboard heating you will not hear anything "turn on" and you simply set the desired room temperature for your comfort.

Nest Thermostats

In the Living Room/Dining Room and the Den you'll find Nest thermostats. To operate them simple rotate the dial to the desired temperature.
